This contains details of all the longer trips we have planned for the club this year. These trips include a stay away from home, normally for a long weekend. Transport to these is typically arranged by sharing private cars rather than using a minibus, as this gives more flexibility to come and go.
You must be a member of the club to come on one of these trips. Please contact one of the committee if you want to join, and we will be glad to tell you more about the club.

Type of walking: Easy access to Langdales and Fairfield groups, so plenty of high walks available. Lower level walks also possible round the lake.
Expected conditions: Snow is a definite possibility - bring winter equipment if you want to climb high. Very cold on top!

Type of walking: nr Cadair Idris range in mid-Wales. Plenty of good high-level walks.
Expected conditions: Although it's spring in Hampshire, it can still be cold or rainy on the Welsh hills in April.

Type of walking: Coastal paths along the north Devon coastline.
Expected conditions: Should be good warm spring weather. The coastal paths can undulate a lot, so the total climb in a day's walking is more than you think.

Type of walking: Loads of big hills around here - Scafell and Pillar groups. There is some lower level walking around Wast Water, the deepest in the Lake District.
Expected conditions: It's summer and near the longest day, but it can always do the unexpected on the hills. Going is quite rough round here.

Type of walking: Known as Ireland's Lake District, so expect plenty of hills.
Expected conditions: There is a reason it's known as the Emerald Isle - pack your waterproofs!

Type of walking: There is one high ridge otherwise on farmland
Expected conditions: Should still be reasonably warm and sunny but don't forget your waterproofs.

Type of walking: Rough going over high ground, Munros nearby!
Expected conditions: Can be extremely wet, but changeable.

Type of walking: high walking, fairly rugged terrain but reasonable paths
